Commercial usage rights: who owns your AI photos?
Straightforward answer: you do. CVPIC's terms give you full commercial rights and ownership of every photo generated from your model. Here's what that covers in practice — and the few common-sense limits.
What CVPIC's terms actually say
This is spelled out in our Terms and Conditions (Intellectual Property): you retain full commercial rights and ownership of your AI-generated photos. The selfies you upload to train the model are yours too — they are deleted from our servers within 7 days, and you can delete them instantly whenever you like.
In plain English: once your photos are generated, they are yours in the same way photos from a paid photographer with a full-rights contract would be. No recurring licence, no watermarks, no "personal use only" tier, no attribution requirement.
Uses that are clearly covered
- Professional profiles — LinkedIn, Xing, company directories, conference speaker pages. This is the classic use of the Corporate Headshots and Personal Branding packs.
- CVs and job applications — including markets like Germany and Austria where a CV photo is still customary.
- Your business — your website's about page, marketing materials, email signatures, pitch decks, press kits. Popular with founders using the Startup Founder pack and professionals using Doctor, Lawyer or Therapist headshots.
- Content and publishing — author photos, podcast cover art (Podcast Host pack), YouTube thumbnails, course platforms, book jackets.
- Social and personal — Instagram, dating profiles, holiday cards, prints. Anything you'd do with a normal photo of yourself.
The common-sense limits
Ownership of the photos does not remove your ordinary legal responsibilities. Our terms make you responsible for the photos you upload and for how you use the generated images. Concretely, that means:
- Only train on your own face (or someone who has clearly consented). Uploading photos of another person without permission violates our terms and, in many places, the law.
- No misleading identities. Using generated photos to create fake personas or impersonate others is prohibited — and is grounds for losing refund eligibility and account access.
- Context rules still apply. Some contexts have their own photo requirements — for example, official documents require genuine photographs, so treat the AI Passport Photos pack as a way to preview and practise the style, and check your government's rules before submitting any photo.
One honest note: we are a photo product, not a law firm, and this page is general information rather than legal advice. If you have a high-stakes commercial use in mind — say, a national ad campaign — it is always sensible to get advice specific to your situation.
How this compares to other AI photo tools
Commercial rights vary across the industry. Some subscription tools gate commercial licences behind higher tiers, and general-purpose generators have their own terms for generated content. With CVPIC, full commercial rights are included with every plan, from the smallest bundle upwards — see what CVPIC costs or compare the models directly in CVPIC vs Photo AI and CVPIC vs HeadshotPro.
Your uploads stay private
Rights cut both ways, so to be explicit about our side: we do not publish, resell or reuse your uploaded selfies or your generated photos. Uploads are deleted within 7 days; generated photos are stored so you can download them from your dashboard. Details live in the privacy policy. If anything is unclear, ask us directly.
